You would think that some things should go without saying, but obviously not.
You may have heard on the news that American air travellers are now required to have REAL ID to board their planes. If REAL ID isn’t available, the accepted alternatives are passports, border crossing and permanent resident cards. But apparently not Costco membership cards.
I know that doesn’t sound right, however, the TSA, recently posted, “We love hot dogs & rotisserie chickens as much as the next person but please stop telling people their Costco card counts as a REAL ID because it absolutely does not,”
In a world where the word Christian is bandied around carelessly, sometimes, there are those who wonder how to tell if someone actually follows Jesus. The answers that are given range from what church we attend to what we do and don’t do. However, Jesus laid out the REAL ID requirements for Christians in John 13:35 “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
Perhaps we need to repeat that a little louder for those in the back: “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are His disciples.”
And really, anything other than that is simply a Costco membership card.
Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, attempt the impossible.
