Can it get any more bizarre? (That by the way, was a rhetorical question and not a challenge).
Last year, Suellen Carey, a transgender influencer, after experiencing years of dating disappointments, married herself. That’s bizarre, but apparently not unheard of in today’s culture.
But wait, there’s more. After less than a year in a sologamous (I think I made that word up) relationship, the 36-year-old has announced that she is now divorcing herself. Apparently, her relationship difficulties weren’t just with others but extended to herself as well. Because, everywhere she went, there she was.
Carey said, “After undergoing couples therapy with myself, I realized that self-analysis and reflection is essential. It’s crucial to know when to end a cycle.” The words, “It’s not you, it’s me” have never been truer.
For thousands of years, marriage was a covenant between one man and one woman, and now, apparently, it means whatever people want it to mean, and no one can say it doesn’t.
Three thousand years ago, Solomon wrote these words in Proverbs 14:12 “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” And even though many things have changed since those words were written, the warning remains the same.
Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
