It was the picture that rocked the world. Some are calling it KateGate, and others Katespiracy. It started innocently enough with a simple Mother’s Day greeting and photo of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, and her children. Then it was noticed that the image had been edited, nothing major, but edited, nevertheless.

It seemed harmless enough in an era of Instagram filters and the like, but apparently, the public expects more from the royal family.

It started late last year when it was announced that the Princess would be undergoing abdominal surgery in January. Since the surgery, little has been seen of the Princess. As a result, there have been countless rumours and speculations about Kate’s health. The photo was supposed to put those concerns to rest; it appears they’ve done just the opposite.

The question now isn’t whether it was right for the royal family to edit a picture. The question now is whether the royal family can be trusted.
And it’s a warning to each of us about how easily trust can be lost and how hard it is to be regained.

The entire incident even casts doubt on whether the Queen actually had tea with Paddington Bear during her platinum celebrations.
Have a great week, and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
