Jesus had the twelve; Moe had Larry and Curly Joe, and Butch had Sundance; who do you have? Who’s your group? Who has your back? Who is there in your life who prays for you, laughs with you and cries with you? Who could you call at three in the morning if you had to go to the hospital, if you had just received bad news or if you needed someone to post your bail, even if you were guilty? If you are a Christian, you have God, but sometimes you need someone with arms to hug, a car and a chequebook. Who is there in your life who fits those criteria? The Bible says a real friend sticks closer than a brother, and I have several people who fit that description.

One of those groups is our early morning men’s group. A group of guys with whom I am able to be transparent and who hold me accountable. They want to know how things are going in my life, not just surface things but the deeper, more meaningful things as well. They want to know how things are going with my soul, and they aren’t afraid to say the tough things. If you don’t have someone like that in your life, it’s probably time you find them.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
