It was so cool. Angela and I won tickets to see Boney M in concert in December.
We were delivering a meal to a church family on Friday, and we had the radio on when they announced the contest. All we had to do was wait for the next Boney M song to be played and call in to be entered in the draw. I am a huge Boney M fan, so I immediately programmed Seaside FM’s phone number into my hands-free device and waited, and waited, and waited until finally, the song came on, and I hit the call button. And I received a recording that my call could not go through. So, I hung up and tried again, and again, and again, and finally, in frustration, I quit.
After a few minutes, I told Angela, “I’m going to try one more time.” The call went through that time, and the DJ told me I was the last qualifying caller. Later that afternoon, we heard them draw my name.
How often in life, in areas much more meaningful than a mere radio contest, do we quit? And who knows, maybe all It would have taken to succeed was one more try.
Have a great week, and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
