I think I’m ready to quit. There’s more that I can do, but I think I’ve done all that I want to do.
Of course, I’m talking about my book, A Fisherman’s Tale. What did you think I was talking about?
Every time I read through the manuscript, I find something to change. Sometimes it’s punctuation, but many times it’s just a phrase or word that I think would work better. And that’s not bad, but it’s never-ending.
I think it’s time to quit editing and changing things and send it to the publisher.
We’ve all met people who have not done something they wanted to do because they couldn’t do it perfectly.
When we think of the gospel story, we can only imagine the lives that Jesus could have touched and the illnesses he could have healed if only his earthly ministry had continued. But Jesus knew the time had come, that even though there was more he could have done had he lived, there were even greater things he could accomplish on the cross. That’s why he said, “It is finished.”
Perhaps there are things in your life that you need to quit, so they will finally be finished.
Have a great week, and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
