So this is Christmas? Here we are celebrating yet another COVID Christmas. A year ago most of us were confident that this year would be different. The politicians and the scientists promised that if we all did our part, and if we all allowed ourselves to be vaccinated, that COVID would be a distant memory. Or at least it would be downgraded from a pandemic to merely being endemic, and this Christmas would be different from last Christmas. And here we are, with 80% of our population vaccinated, this Christmas isn’t a whole lot different from last Christmas.

Almost three thousand years ago King David wrote these words in Psalm 20:7 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
Perhaps today he would have written, “Some trust in politicians and some in scientists. . .”

Now understand, that didn’t mean that David didn’t see the necessity of horses and chariots, it’s just that he understood that ultimately his trust had to be in God.

In these days of confusion and fear, we can’t ignore the politicians and scientists, but ultimately we need to trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
