Well, I’m home! After ten very long days in Egypt, a sixty-hour return trip, 3 COVID tests and the required isolation, I’m home. I’m sure some might wonder if it was worth it.

We saw some incredible things; we met some fantastic people and helped the Wesleyan Standard Church of Egypt celebrate 100 years of ministry.

The highlight of my trip wasn’t the pyramids or the Valley of the King. It wasn’t the multiple church services, the new friends, the awesome food or meeting the Governor of Asyut. Although experiencing any of those things would have made for a glorious trip.

The highlight for me happened Sunday night as we were getting off our bus at 12:30 a.m., so I guess it was really Monday morning. We had been on the go for 16 hours, and I had preached at a brand new church that evening.

As I got off the bus, our security officer, who had been with us all day and heard my message, looked at me and said, “Now, your Jesus is my Jesus.”

So, yes, the ten very long days, the sixty-hour return trip, 3 COVID tests and the required isolation were worth it, just to hear those six words.

Have a great week, and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
