And
just like that, everything changed.
Things will never be the same in Nova Scotia again, and all because of an evil
that will not be named.
When ********** went on his murderous spree last Sunday he was not just a
murderer, he was a thief.
He stole the lives of some people and he stole the spouses of others. He
stole the children of some and the parents of others. But beyond those he
directly affected, he stole from every person in Nova Scotia. He stole
our sense of human goodness,; he stole our sense of security and he stole our
sense of innocence. No more will we be able to say: that could never
happen here.
People will try to analyze what happened and find a reason behind it, but
ultimately the root of it is evil.
Regardless of *******’s mental health, regardless of his upbringing and
regardless of his motivation, what he did was evil, and he was evil.
To paraphrase Jesus, the devil is a murderer and the children of the devil love
to do the evil things he does. But we aren’t children of the devil, we
are children of God, and His word reminds us in Romans 12:21 Don’t let evil
conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
Have a great week and remember: To see what is possible, you’ll have to
attempt the impossible.
