What happens when you discover you’re not who you always thought you were? That is becoming more and more a reality for people around the world as consumer DNA kits become much more affordable.
Since
having my DNA done two years ago, I’ve discovered connections and I never knew
I had, and cousins I never knew were cousins.
One gentleman who reached out to me had never been told who his father was,
after having his DNA tested he discovered that people he knew all his life as
friends were actually first and second cousins.
He is very close to finding the answer to his question, “Who is my
father?” And that may be something that
even his father didn’t know, and that could be a shock for all involved, as he
connects with siblings who had no idea.
Secrets that used to be taken to the grave are now being revealed for less than a hundred dollars.
But regardless of what DNA may or may not reveal about your heritage, as a Christ-follower you have the assurance of a Heavenly Father, and that will never change.
God’s promise to us is found in 2 Corinthians 6:18 “And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.”
Have a great week and remember: To see what is possible, you’ll have to attempt the impossible.
