Red Green reminds us, “You are not good at something just because you enjoy it. Karaoke has proved that.”   Tarwinder Shokar evidently enjoyed gambling, but he has proved that he’s not very good at it, and now he’s suing Caesars in Windsor Ontario for encouraging his gambling habit.

I’m not sure, but if your business is based on people gambling, then encouraging people to gamble is probably an expected part of your business model.

In 2013, over a three-day period, Mr. Shokar lost over $340,000.00, and he wants his money back and $500,000.00 as well in punitive damages.  If I was a betting man, and I’m not, I’d be willing to wager where you’d find Tarwinder the day after the cheque was cashed.

Mr. Shokar’s lawyer stated, “They did everything they could for him to gamble as much as possible.”  But isn’t that what they are supposed to do? They are a casino.

How often have we tried to shift the blame for our bad behaviour to somebody else?  It’s my parents’ fault, the way I was raised.  It’s society’s fault.  The Devil made me do it.  But if it’s somebody else’s fault, then there is no need for us to change.

But until we own our bad behaviour we can’t repent, and until we repent, we can’t be forgiven.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is possible, you’ll have to attempt the impossible.
