So, did you get what you wanted for Christmas this year?

I know, I know, you really didn’t expect anything and what you got was just perfect.  It really is the thought that counts, right?

So, just between you and me, did you get what you wanted for Christmas this year?

Angela and I got exactly what we wanted. Then again, we bought it ourselves and told everyone we wanted money. And we got the perfect gift for us.

But we don’t always get the perfect gift.  Sometimes we are so sure that we have dropped enough hints, both subtle and blatant, that there is no possible way people could mess up.

Then we're disappointed on Christmas morning when we get something we weren't all that excited about.  But, to be polite, we have to do our best to pretend that it is exactly what we wanted.  “No, really, that’s exactly what I wanted, it’s like you read my mind.”

I wonder if we got Jesus what he wanted this Christmas? After all, it is His birthday.  You did get Jesus something didn’t you?  And His wish list is really quite simple. All he wants is all of you, and that is yours to give but you have to want to give it.
