Stuff! Where
does all the stuff come from? As most of your know, the Guptills are not
only moving, we are downsizing, and part of that process is purging.
We’ve lived in our present house for fifteen years, and it’s amazing the stuff
you accumulate. Add to that the fact that Angela’s mom has lived with us
for all those years and we have her stuff. When Deborah moved out and
went to college, she left some of her stuff. And our son, Stephen, has
moved a thousand times in the past fifteen years and it seems that every time
he moved some of his stuff ended up at our place. And so we purge.
We’ve sold some stuff, recycled some stuff, gave some stuff away and threw a
pile of stuff in the trash. And still there’s stuff. And at
one time it was important stuff, important enough to someone that we kept it,
and now it isn’t.
And I was reminded again of Jesus’ words in Luke 12:20-21 “But God
said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get
everything you worked for?’ “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly
wealth (stuff) but not have a rich relationship with God.”
Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will
have to attempt the impossible.
