Where
does the time go? This week it’s been twenty-five years. That’s a
quarter of a century.
That’s right, twenty-five years ago this week Amazon was founded and while that
was important for Jeff Bezos, it really didn’t impact my life. However,
two days later, on July 7th 1994, my name was read at Beulah Camp appointing me
as the pastor of a new Wesleyan church in Bedford.
A church that at that point only existed in my dreams.
It would be six months before our first small group met and three months after
that before we celebrated our first public worship service and another ten
years before we would move into our own building. And then poof, just
like that, it’s been twenty-five years.
At times it seems like distant history and at other times it seems like
yesterday. Think about it…..over a third of our church family hadn’t
even been born twenty-five years ago.
And through that twenty-five years we have been true to the original vision to
reach the pre-churched, the de-churched and the un-churched.
I’m pretty sure I won’t be your pastor twenty-five years from now, but I trust
that Cornerstone will continue to impact the world and providing a home for the
spiritually homeless will still be your mission.
Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you
will have to attempt the impossible.
