I have a confession to make, this might shock you, but I hate when things start late.  Hate might be a little strong.  Nope, that’s pretty much spot on.

While we were on vacation, we went on an excursion that was late from the beginning.  Two ladies were late getting to the starting place, so we started late. At the first stop, there were people late getting back to the bus, and we waited for them.  Seriously?  The rest of us weren’t late, so why were we inconvenienced by people who couldn’t tell time?

Next stop, same scenario, different people.

And there was no apology or look of shame when they got on the bus, it would have mortified me.  But the driver had already taught the group, regardless of how late you were, he’d wait.  If he had left the first group, I’m pretty sure there wouldn’t have been any stragglers at the second stop.

And I let a few people control my emotions. I was stressed and cranky and really didn’t enjoy the day, but that was my fault, not theirs.

We will always share our lives with others, and while we can’t control how others behave, we can control how we respond.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.

  1. On a cruise to Amber Cove we took the bus tour into Porta Plata I think. No matter where, two people didn’t return to the bus at the appointed time. The guide ran to the shops we were in, no luck, so off we went without then.
