There are denominations that seem to obsess on the end times but I wouldn’t have guessed the Russian Orthodox Church to be one of those. And yet the church’s head, Patriarch Kirill, is warning that the Antichrist might be closer than we think. Recently he speculated that smartphones might be leading us one step closer to the end times.

While the Patriarch says he doesn’t oppose technology, he does feel that the data collecting abilities of smartphones are worrisome in light of what the scriptures reveal about the Antichrist and a future one world government.

In a recent interview, Kirill stated “Control from one point is a foreshadowing of the coming of Antichrist if we talk about the Christian view. Antichrist is the person who will be at the head of the world wide web that controls the entire human race.”

He might have a point. I wonder how difficult it would be for some Christians to choose between their phones and their faith?

That might be worth thinking about right now.  What would you be willing to give up for Jesus and what would be a deal breaker for you?

The question was asked in the Bible over 3000 years ago and it’s still valid today. Choose today who you are going to serve.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
