I wonder? With all the talk of tariffs and counter tariff, and the rising level of tension between us and neighbours to the south, what would have happened if we had reacted differently?

If instead of pushing back, with counter-tariffs, you’ve heard it said an eye for an eye, we had turned the other cheek? If instead of doing to others as they did to us, we had done to others as we wished they had done to us? If instead of demanding our rights under the law, we had offered to go the second mile? I wonder if it would have made a difference.

I can almost hear people thinking, that’s crazy talk, Denn. You can’t possibly think that Jesus’ teaching should apply to the way a nation conducts itself? Probably not.

However, what often happens is that we justify why Jesus’s teachings won’t work on the national and international level, and before long, we can justify why His teachings won’t work in our personal lives.

No one reading this has any control over how Canada will respond to Donald’s ever-changing demands and tariffs; however, each of us will choose whether or not we will embrace Jesus’ teachings in our everyday lives.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
