I had car problems last week. And having driven Toyotas for the last twenty-five years, those aren’t words that I normally say. It was so frustrating.

I was half tempted to trade my Corolla, but it would have been for another Toyota. I was frustrated, not silly.

And then we figured it out. It really wasn’t that big of a problem. It certainly wasn’t worth the hassle and expense of trading vehicles.  But right then, it seemed like the best possible solution.

I wonder how often in life we face problems with a limited life span or a simple solution and they cause us to make life-altering changes?

We think that perhaps trading cars, trading spouses, or trading careers will make a difference. And so, we drop out of school, file for divorce, or quit our jobs without looking for other, simpler solutions. Maybe we just need a little time and wisdom.

I’m not saying that all our problems are that easy to solve, but I wonder how many times they might have been.

King David was facing a pile of problems, and he could still write in Psalm 30:5 Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
