I don’t think there is anyone in Canada who doubts that the Chinese Government attempted to influence our last two Federal elections.  The only questions that people may have, are questions about whether or not the influence was successful.
And if it was, does that mean our present government is the result of foreign influence, and if so, what does that mean in the real world?
The reality is that there are any number of things that can influence an election.
Ask any candidate who has had unsubstantiated allegations made about them during a campaign, or substantiated ones for that matter. And who would deny that the media can influence how a particular candidate is viewed, even if they do claim to be unbiased?
On a personal level, each one of us is influenced by outside sources, with either positive or negative outcomes. On a daily basis, we are influenced by the media, society, friends, social media and our church community.
We can’t really choose not to be influenced, but we can choose who will have the greatest influence in our lives.
The question we each need to ask and to answer is: Who are we allowing to influence and shape our worldviews, our moral views and our spiritual views?
Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
