I had my morning all planned. I was going to get a haircut, but when I called the barbershop, my barber wasn’t working. It was a beautiful day, so I thought, I will get my car washed, but when I pulled up to the car wash, it wasn’t working. Then I dropped into my pharmacy to pick up a prescription I had ordered the night before on their app.  But the prescription wasn’t ready, because their app wasn’t working.

They were certainly first-world problems, but still, there were a little frustrating.  And as I was stewing over my misfortunes, I remembered the words of Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
When our plans are disrupted, do we lean into the grace and sovereignty of God, or do we become frustrated and cranky? The choice is always ours.

Maybe our life would be a little less frustrating and we would be a little less cranky, if we took to heart the advice of Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

And yes, ultimately, I did get my hair cut, my prescription filled, and my car washed.

Have a great week and remember: to see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
