So, what are you giving up for Lent?  I was thinking of giving up brussels sprouts, Oprah and Barry Manilow music.  In some churches that are more traditional than we are, Lent is the 40 days (less Sundays) before Easter and has been seen as a time to fast or give something up for God.  Most of us are quite willing to give up things that don’t appeal to us, but actually making a sacrifice is a little tougher. That might be why it’s called, “making a sacrifice.”

So, what have you given up for God? Not just during Lent, but all year round.  Is your life any different because you are a Christ Follower than it would be if you weren’t a Christ Follower?  Has following Jesus cost you anything?  Financially?  In Lifestyle choices? In what you do and who you do it with?  If it hasn’t made a difference in your life, then I would wonder if it has really made a difference at all.

Lent is a time to remember the sacrifice that He made for us and a time to reflect on what we do for Him.  Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
