It has not been a pleasant campaign at all.  The gloves came off early, past indiscretions have been dug up and candidates have attacked the personal integrity of others.

Because of past behaviour, the Prime Minister has been labelled a racist by some, although his recent behaviour would point in a very different direction.  The leader of the opposition has been painted as misogynistic and homophobic because of personal convictions and beliefs that are shared by millions of Canadians.  Most of who are in no way misogynists or homophobes.

All parties are promising to spend money they don’t have, to purchase things we can’t afford, but it doesn’t matter because nobody believes they’ll keep their promises anyway.

You’ve probably heard me say that I’m too liberal to be a Conservative and too conservative to be a Liberal and there is no party of Denn.

But I love democracy.

It was Churchill who said, “Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the rest.”

I have already voted and I seriously don’t care how you vote, I will not think any less of you as a person, I have friends in all the parties.  But please, please, please vote.  Because not voting isn’t protesting, it’s simply giving up.

Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you will have to attempt the impossible.
